https://soundcloud.com/the64thwonder/7-cents-feat-lbpimpin Lyrical ginsu wielder Säge, The 64th Wonder is back from a quiet hiatus, gearing up quietly to hit us all over the head. “7 Cents” is a chill lil’ something from Säge and LBPimpin, but don’t let that fool you as the bars are apparent and precise. After having just seen The 64th Wonder perform with Vagabond Maurice, it’s amazing some folks ain’t up on the wave that is the Slump Gang 777, but then again it’s an envious position, because once one has been initiated to the music— there’s no turning back. Keep it locked for more from Säge.
Best laid plans are clearly put into action as PIVOT GANG’s summertime take over is complete with the release of Mfn Melo’s MeloDramatics. 11 tracks of pure bars as only Mfn can deliver, the first take away is that the project sounds great and the beats are amazing, laid back, and perfect for puffing something to. After seeing many of these tracks performed with intensity live, taking in the lyrics and laying back with the project, it’s really dope to see Melo navigate all thats heavy on his mind through the music and turning it into MeloDramatics. A true flex of crafting tracks, MeloDramatics cements the fact that Mfn deserves looks and praise as much as the budding other members of Pivot Gang, and it’s nice to see how they got each other in this music shit.
Over something super smooth from Cangelosi and Mulatto Beats, Qari lets loose some lyrical ammunition on a lil’ something called “Revenge”. With the way Qari making music these days, dude is on a whole other type of planet, making the shit seem a certain type of designer while keeping it realer than most, these raps is like codes to live by. Big tings.
We’re back with another Wiggidies Wednesday, with more tracks from the Crew you never knew. We used to record in Benny Nice’s basement, and while down there we’d find a ton of weird instruments and non instruments to add to beats if we weren’t making sample based music. Today’s selection showcases a bit of both. Remember this series is about showing an evolution in styles through the prism of a bunch of youth coming into their own as artists, with many of the members flexing way harder on the rap shits in modern day. As always have some fun and kick back w/ a doob and listen to these.
NEW HEAT: greenSLLIME + GUESTS “YOMI FREESTYLE” X “BANK PUSSY” X “DON’T GET SMOKED” X “HONEST RMX” X “SALVADOR FLEESTYLE”
greenSLLIME, DJ, host of SLLIME’S BROKE ASS LOW BUDGET SHOW, producer, and emcee has been hard at work creating. Recently he let loose just a taste of some of the stuff he’s been working on, mainly on the production side of things, and it all bangs. Featuring guests like Yomi, Dally Auston, Demigod, Kahrion, and even remixing Future’s “Honest”, y’all not even ready for when Sllime really gets going. Keep it locked for more.
Big new tings out of BK as Chelsea Reject drops a new video for her latest track “Out Alive” directed by Sen Floyd. This is just the latest from Chelsea as she gears up for her big new tape This Is Not My Final Form, and we can only expect more to come in the coming months. Chelsea has been busy as hell lately, wrapping up a tour in Japan and just embarking on a tour in Europe. Consider this a warning to be on the look out for more from Chelsea.
D.A. been due to bring us some fire, and on “Django’s Free(Style)” does he ever deliver the heat rocks. Over a beat that’s pure chaos from David Miller, Dally stunts on the competition as only he can. Super hype for the follow up to his 99¢ but in the mean time bump this.
“knowing that they gods/ but treated like they garbage” Since we had first heard Radamiz’ Writeous we been feeling like “holy shit someone out here that really is working and respecting the craft while blazing new trails.” and thats exactly what Radamiz been on, and we been lucky enough to pair dude with some Chicago producers on our Countdown 2 Midnight project and have him come out to the Chi and rock a crowd. Since then we been waiting impatiently for new Radamiz, and here it is with “Thousand Chains Freestyle” produced by Chuck Strangers and feels like a “Dynasty Intro” with new life breathed into it. Seems like the young god is gearing up to heat the winter up, so be on the look out. Also check out this dope video that dropped not too long ago, shit is hot too.
NYC’S Madwiz has been on our radar for a minute after hearing him go crazy with Radamiz. The other day he dropped 3 varieties of flavor for us to get schooled with. “Ock Mode!”, “Cannonball Run”, and “Real Gangsta” all have Madwiz going in on the bars, showcasing skills delivered in various forms, over different styles of instrumentals. A true form of lyrical exercise. Keep an eye open for more from Madwiz soon.
We missed last week, so we’re giving y’all an extra track for the hell of it, if anyone cares out there lol. Hip Hop, movies, Mario Kart….all things that make for good rap music in general. Sturgbot produced two bangers in “Dubs Up” and “Four Seasons”, which couldn’t be more different in sound and style, but are rocked to the utmost none the less, “Dubs Up” with it’s Rainbow Road sample going crazy, and “Four Seasons” using a jazzy piano sample for the emcees to go brazy over. Benny Nice produces a track that looks like lights from the Close Encounters space ship with “Steven Spielberg”, which begs the question, what do you (or any of us for that matter) know about Steven Spielberg money?
